Reliable like always

This was my third purchase from ACMER, and they continue to be consistent. I got the 48W Laser Head as an upgrade for my P3. Installation was easy, just like my previous module swaps. Their parts are always good quality and integrate seamlessly. My orders always arrive on time, usually within a week. No surprises, which is what I want from an online store.

Solid machine, minor shipping gripe

I ordered the ACMER S1 20W Laser Engraver and generally, I'm quite satisfied. The machine itself is robust and performed well on the wood and acrylic sheets I tested. Engraving detail was sharp. Shipping was free, which was a plus, but it did take a full 8 days to get to me in Oregon, which felt a bit slow compared to other online orders I've made recently. Also, the instructions for connecting the Air Assist Pump could be clearer; I figured it out, but it took a little extra fiddling. Overall, it's a good purchase, and customer service was helpful when I had a question about the software.

Good value, first order

I bought the ACMER P1 10W Laser Engraver after looking at a few brands. The $100 off code I found made it a really good deal for my first machine. Setup was straightforward, and it's been working fine for my small projects. Felt like I got my money's worth.

Can ACMER lasers actually cut through metal, or is it just for marking? Saw something about metal marking spray but wasn't sure if that means it can cut thin metal too.

B Ben Osei 2 months ago
Nah, they can't cut through metal. The 'metal marking spray' is what you use *before* engraving to get a dark, permanent mark on metal surfaces. It's still just surface engraving for metals.

Yeah, for cutting metal you'd need a totally different type of laser, like a fiber laser. These are diode lasers, great for wood, acrylic, leather, etc., but just marking on metal.

What's the deal with returns? Like, if I get a P1 and it's just not cutting it (pun intended lol) for my needs, is it a huge hassle to send back?

L Laura Marsh 1 month ago
I haven't returned a machine, but I did return an air assist pump once cause I ordered the wrong one. It was pretty straightforward, just follow their instructions on the site.

I think as long as you're within the return window and it's not damaged, you should be fine. Read their policy on the site for specifics, but generally seems okay from what I've heard.

Thinking about getting an ACMER, but I keep seeing xTool mentioned. How do these compare, especially for a hobbyist who wants to do both engraving and some cutting?

D Dan Beaumont 1 month ago
I went with ACMER over xTool because of the Corexy tech, seemed more precise for engraving. Cuts pretty well too, especially the P3. For hobby stuff, it's definitely enough power.

xTool has a bigger ecosystem maybe, but ACMER's P3 48W is a beast for the price. I think the dual-laser stuff is what really sets it apart if you're serious about cutting thicker materials.

Does ACMER have like, actual working discount codes? All the ones I find on coupon sites seem fake or expired. Need to save some cash on a P3 48W.

D David H. 2 months ago
They do! You gotta look for influencer codes or sign up for their newsletter. Those are usually legit. I got $100 off my S1 last month with an influencer code.

Yeah, definitely sign up for the newsletter. I think they give you a first-order discount code that way too, or at least they used to. Stacking them usually doesn't work though, fyi.

Hey, wondering if anyone knows how long shipping usually takes for a P3 to, like, California? Trying to get it before a project deadline.

Mine got to LA in about a week and a half, maybe 10 days total? Came from a US warehouse so it was pretty quick.

Yeah, if it's in stock at their US warehouse, it's usually not too bad. I think mine for Nevada was less than two weeks for sure.
